A Farmington resident, Jeffrey Dibble, 48, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on Wednesday for his role in a high-speed police chase in 2021 that nearly resulted in a fatality. On September 15th, 2021, Dibble stole a pickup truck with a cattle trailer, leading to a dangerous pursuit that involved multiple vehicle collisions and ultimately injured a bystander in Canandaigua.

The victim, a mother collecting a trumpet for her child, narrowly escaped death when Dibble crashed into her. This incident led to severe repercussions for the community and law enforcement, who were left with “horrible memories,” according to Assistant Ontario County District Attorney Anthony DiMartino.

Dibble, previously convicted of seven felonies, faced multiple charges including assault, grand larceny, and unlawful fleeing a police officer. His sentences for these crimes will run concurrently, reinforcing the gravity of his offenses.
