Geneva police say one person was taken into custody without incident after an attempted stabbing in the city.

A domestic disturbance late-Tuesday night led to the arrest of Thomas F. Ripke, who is accused of trying to stab a woman with a pair of scissors. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. at a residence on West Street, prompting an immediate response from the City of Geneva Police Department’s Uniformed Division.

Upon arrival, police were informed of the attack and swiftly located Ripke at another residence where he was taken into custody. The female victim reported minor injuries from the altercation but opted not to seek medical treatment at the time.

Ripke was subsequently processed and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending a pretrial arraignment.
