New York State Fair returns to pre-pandemic pricing, state officials say

The Great New York State Fair announced a return to its pre-pandemic admission and parking prices, setting tickets at $8 and parking at $12. Last year, attendees paid $6 for admission and $10 for parking. This adjustment brings the prices back in line with rates charged before the pandemic, although still slightly lower than the $9 ticket price that was standard from 2003 to 2019.

Fair Director Jola Szubielski emphasized the fair’s role in education and regional economic stimulation, noting that it remains one of the most affordable state fairs in the nation. In an effort to maintain accessibility, the fair will continue to offer free admission for children under 12, seniors over 65, and special free entry days for emergency and armed forces personnel.

The fair, which runs from August 21 through Labor Day, September 2, will feature the Chevrolet Music Series with 39 national acts included in the admission price. A flash sale will also offer tickets at a reduced rate of $6, though this year, purchases must be made via card. In response to this policy, “reverse ATM” machines will be available for those needing to convert cash to a debit card for use at the fair.
