Cayuga County woman struck family member in car, then prevented them from calling 911

Sheriff Brian Schenck announced the arrest of Kristianna M. Hyde following a domestic incident inside a moving vehicle on State Route 34, near Turnpike Road in Sennett on April 6.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene around 11:14 a.m., eventually meeting with the caller at Trolley Park in Weedsport. The investigation revealed Hyde, a passenger, struck a family member driving the vehicle, and interfered with their attempts to call 911 for help.

Hyde was charged with criminal mischief, a Class A Misdemeanor, for her actions during the incident. Following her arrest, she was processed at the public safety building and then taken to the Cayuga County Jail.

Hyde was released on her own recognizance at the centralized CAP Court and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sennett Court at a later date.
