Water will be temporarily shut off for part of Odessa on Tuesday

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

Residents along Merchant Avenue in Odessa will experience a temporary water shut-off on Tuesday morning. The Village of Odessa announced that from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on April 9, water service will be halted to facilitate construction activities in the area.

The affected stretch extends from Speedway Road to Main Street, with the possibility of the interruption extending beyond the estimated time, contingent on the construction crew’s progress.

The construction necessitating the water shut-off involves digging near an active fire hydrant, a measure taken to prevent potential flooding and complications from a possible breakage in the old water line.

Village authorities have coordinated this effort to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety and efficiency of the construction process.
