Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson announced the arrest of 40-year-old Ron E. Poore from Gardiner, Maine, for his involvement in a series of robbery incidents in the Town of Tyre. Poore was apprehended on March 10 following a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies responding to robbery reports along the State Route 318 and State Route 414 corridor. The initial incident occurred on March 9 at the Loves Travel Stop, where a 67-year-old woman reported a robbery attempt at an ATM, with the suspect fleeing in a maroon SUV.

Further investigations on March 10 linked Poore to an additional robbery of a business and an attempted armed robbery at another nearby establishment, both involving a suspect matching his description and seen fleeing in a similar vehicle. Law enforcement successfully located and arrested Poore at another area business as he attempted to escape. The vehicle used in these crimes was identified as stolen by force from Monroe County, NY.

Charged with multiple counts of robbery and petit larceny, Poore was held for arraignment but was released on his own recognizance due to New York State’s bail reform legislation. He is scheduled for further court proceedings on March 13th, 2024, at the Town of Tyre Court. Sheriff Thompson expressed gratitude to the various agencies that assisted in the apprehension of Poore.
