The Pal-Mac High School Drama Club is set to enchant audiences with “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical,” running from March 8 to March 10 at the Pal-Mac Performing Arts Center. This fantasy-themed musical brings to life Percy Jackson’s thrilling journey, a 12-year-old demigod on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt, featuring an electrifying rock and roll soundtrack.

The production stands out for its remarkable set and special effects, including dynamic lightning visuals and innovative props like a modified toilet. The technical team, led by Doug Blackall, and the cast, including Tyler Dranichak as Grover and Maddie Sullivan as Luke, have worked tirelessly to create an immersive experience. The show also boasts intricate fight choreography, crafted with the help of Fight Choreographer Jay Simmons, adding intensity to Percy’s battles.

Beyond the spectacle, the musical delves into Percy’s personal struggles, making it a relatable story for many. With themes of self-acceptance and the importance of both biological and chosen family, the cast believes the story’s message is empowering.
