Ginna supports local firefighters with $20,000 donation in Wayne County

The R.E. Ginna Clean Energy Center has contributed $20,000 to the Pultneyville Fire & Water Rescue, enabling the volunteer unit to upgrade its electric generator. This donation underscores Ginna’s commitment to supporting community services, ensuring the firehouse remains operational even during power outages.

Daren Blankenship, Site Vice President of R.E. Ginna, emphasized the importance of reliable power for emergency services, especially given the occasional local power disruptions due to adverse weather. This gesture will assist in securing uninterrupted service at the fire station, vital for the safety of the local community.

The new generator, set for installation this spring, represents a significant improvement for the volunteer firefighters in Pultneyville, located near the Ginna Clean Energy Center. Wayne County officials have praised the donation, highlighting Ginna’s ongoing support for local communities and the essential emergency services they rely on.
