Court appearance for Canandaigua sex offender delayed

The court appearance of Paul Goodrell, a 54-year-old convicted sex offender, initially scheduled for Monday in Canandaigua City Court, has been postponed. Goodrell, known for a series of offenses involving children, is facing accusations of inappropriate conduct in public spaces, including schools and stores.

Recently arrested for an incident at the Victor Walmart last month, Goodrell allegedly followed a family with four young children around the store. Notably, he has been prohibited from entering any Walmart locations since 2021 due to similar allegations.

The rescheduled hearing is now set for February 21. As the investigation continues, local authorities are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information about Goodrell’s activities. The community’s cooperation is vital in assisting law enforcement with the ongoing case.
