A former Harriet Tubman Residential Center employee has won an employment arbitration and returned to work after criminal charges against him were dismissed, according to The Citizen.
Marvin Edmonds, 51, had been charged with second-degree sexual abuse and official misconduct following an allegation involving a 17-year-old resident at the Sennett facility.
Sennett Town Justice Florence Riley dismissed the charges in February, but Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci said her office’s appeal remains pending.
Arbitrator Thomas Rinaldo ruled in Edmonds’ favor Sept. 15, restoring his employment and awarding back pay.
Edmonds said he was assigned to the Finger Lakes Residential Center in Lansing rather than his preferred Tubman position and had not received the wages and benefits owed to him.
