In a significant move for the Town of Victor, residents will cast their vote this April on a proposed $1 million purchase of an 11.9-acre parcel on Brace Road. The town authorities plan to utilize this land for a new highway facility.
This decision aligns with the town’s strategic land use, as it already possesses an adjoining 25-acre property.
However, the resolution to buy the land sparked concerns among some residents over the lack of public disclosure. A petition, gathering over 500 signatures, was presented to the board on January 16, demanding a public vote.
The board acceded to this request, setting the stage for a community-wide referendum. The voting, scheduled between April 16 and April 30, will be a decisive moment for the town, as residents weigh in on this substantial investment and its implications for Victor’s future development.
