A 49-year-old man from Bath has been arrested following the discovery of a woman’s body in a local motel, sparking a police investigation into the suspicious death. The Village of Bath Police Department reported responding to a call at the Super 8 Motel on January 18, where they found a 49-year-old woman deceased in her room.
The subsequent police investigation, involving multiple witness interviews, led to the arrest of Richard I. Seager, also 49, from Bath, on January 19. Seager faces charges of criminally negligent homicide, classified as a class E felony.
Seager was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail, where he was formally charged and held on bail. The case continues to unfold as local authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the woman’s untimely death.
