A tragic accident occurred in Jefferson County when a Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by 49-year-old Jeremy Hubbard of Jordan, Onondaga County, broke through the ice and became submerged. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident near Steel Point in the Village of Clayton early Sunday morning.
The vehicle had driven off the end of Rivershore Drive onto the ice in the bay, where the ice was thinner, leading to the truck’s submersion. The New York State Police (NYSP) Dive Team was called to the scene and recovered Hubbard’s body from the submerged vehicle.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the incident likely occurred around 8:43 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20. The ongoing investigation seeks to determine the precise circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
