State Senator Tom O’Mara, Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, announced the commencement of a series of public hearings on Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposed state budget for 2024-2025. The hearings, beginning on January 23, will closely examine the governor’s Health/Medicaid proposals. Conducted jointly by the Senate Finance Committee and the Assembly Ways and Means Committee, the hearings will gather detailed insights and testimony from various experts, local government officials, and advocates across sectors. The agenda aims to scrutinize the governor’s budget proposals across multiple policy areas, including health, transportation, education, and environmental conservation.
