A tragic three-vehicle accident occurred in Marcellus on Saturday evening, resulting in the death of a Syracuse man, as reported by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. The accident happened near West Seneca Turnpike and Frank Gay Road around 5:50 p.m., where icy road conditions caused a pickup truck to collide head-on with an SUV.

Anthony Huddleston Jr., 36, from Syracuse, was the sole occupant of the SUV. He was quickly extricated by the Marcellus and Howlett Hill fire departments and rushed to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. The accident highlights the dangers posed by adverse weather conditions on road safety.

The pickup truck’s driver and the occupant of the third vehicle, which swerved into a ditch to avoid the collision, were unharmed. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of cautious driving, especially during icy conditions. The sheriff’s office continues its investigation into the accident.
