The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Williamson man following an assault investigation.
According to a news release, Willie Pitts, 67, was arrested for second-degree felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
They say Pitts confronted his upstairs neighbor for making too much noise in his apartment, then proceeded to assault him with a baseball bat.
The assault caused physical injuries to the victim, who was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The incident happened on December 7, according to deputies, who said Pitts was arraigned and will answer the charges at a later date.
