The Montezuma Audubon Center is inviting the public to an educational event on Saturday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m., focusing on how wildlife in wetlands survive the winter months.

The event, designed for all ages, will feature an indoor presentation discussing the winter adaptations of various species native to Montezuma, including black bears, wood frogs, songbirds, and geese.

Following the presentation, participants can join a guided 1-mile hike through the center’s wetland and forest ecosystems. This interactive hike will provide an opportunity to observe the discussed adaptations in the natural habitat, enhancing the learning experience. The event is open to individuals of all ages, though children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The participation fee for the event is $10 per person, with advanced registration required due to limited space. Interested parties can reserve their spot through the Montezuma Audubon Center’s website. The center, located at 2295 State Route 89, Savannah, NY, encourages those with questions to reach out via email or phone. This event offers a unique opportunity for attendees to gain insight into the resilience and adaptability of wildlife during the colder months.
