The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is inviting individuals interested in a career in 911 communications to attend two open house sessions at their 911 Center. These events are designed to provide insights into the career and assist with the application process for a New York State Civil Service Exam for Dispatchers.
The exam is scheduled for January 27, 2024, with the application deadline set for December 13, 2023.
Prospective attendees can sign up for the open house by visiting the Ontario County website and navigating to the “Employment” section, followed by the “Exams” link. The open house events are scheduled for December 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and December 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. These sessions offer a unique opportunity for participants to gain a first-hand understanding of the 911 Center’s operations.
During the open houses, attendees will be able to interact with current 911 staff, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the day-to-day workings of the center. Furthermore, assistance will be provided for those wishing to complete their online applications for the civil service exam. Convenient parking for the events is available across the street from the Sheriff’s Office, ensuring easy access for all participants.
