Geneva duo faces weapons charges after shooting, stabbing in Auburn

Police say two men are in custody after a shooting and stabbing outside Harley’s Pub on State Street in Auburn.


Angelo Diaz III, and Matthew Williams-McIntyre, both 27, and residents of Geneva were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said Wednesday evening that the charges came from an indictment warrant, which was handed up less than 24 hours after the incident.

One person was shot and another stabbed.

Diaz and Williams-McIntyre have been remanded to the Cayuga County Jail.

Auburn shooting, stabbing under investigation: Unknown number of individuals being detained for questioning, police say

Police provided an update on the shooting and stabbing that happened in Auburn during the overnight hours.

According to a news release, police were called to the area of Harley’s Pub on State Street around 2:09 a.m. for the report of a person shot.


Upon arrival, one male was found with a gunshot wound and another with a stab wound. 

It was relayed that the other parties involved had left the area in an unknown vehicle.

The vehicle with the other involved individuals was located a short time later and are being detained for questioning. However, they have not yet been identified by police.


Police said the shooting and stabbing victims were transported to University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment. They are expected to recover. 

Police added that there is no threat to the public at this time. 

Updates are expected to follow, but police said at this point in time — they aren’t releasing any additional information.
