The 36th Annual Holiday Parade, a cherished community tradition in Downtown Auburn, is set to take place on Saturday, November 25, at 5 p.m.
The parade will begin at East Genesee & North Fulton Streets, moving through the heart of downtown and concluding at Memorial City Hall. This year’s event features a new starting time, moved up to 5 p.m. to ensure safer daylight conditions for the lineup. Pre-parade activities, including live musical performances and craft activities for children, will be hosted at the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center from 2 – 5 p.m.
The parade will showcase a float competition with cash prizes, judged on creativity, holiday theme, and enthusiasm. Local businesses, schools, and community organizations will participate with floats, music, and performances. Highlights of the parade include appearances by the Skaneateles Dickens characters, the Ghost Busters of CNY, and Santa & Mrs. Claus, who will close the parade. The event is sponsored by Tompkins Community Bank and in partnership with the City of Auburn.
In conjunction with the parade, Small Business Saturday encourages the community to support local downtown businesses. Special promotions, discounts, and events will be offered by a variety of local shops, including exclusive deals at Evolve CBD, Hairlooms, and The Liberty Store.
The NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center will feature live music and a market for holiday shopping, while Prison City North hosts a holiday market with artisan vendors. For those looking for versatile gifts, BID gift cards are available, supporting over 30 downtown businesses. This festive weekend invites residents and visitors to shop, dine, and enjoy the holiday spirit in downtown Auburn.
