Over the last 45 days we’ve been sitting down with candidates from across our coverage area talking with them about the biggest issues in their respective races. While not all candidates opted to participate, there were several key races that saw multiple candidates participate. Now that early voting is underway, we will be previewing contested races with multiple candidates who participated in our series.
We kick things off with the contested race for mayor in Auburn, which features a pair of familiar faces: Democratic City Councilor Jimmy Giannettino and former Auburn Mayor, Republican Tim Lattimore.
The race features no incumbent as Mayor Michael Quill decided he would not seek re-election. The two candidates see many of the same issues in the community, but offer differences in how to approach them.
