Steuben man faces felony charges after threatening family member

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Jacob G. Vanness, 28, of Corning, on September 12.


Following an investigation into an alleged domestic disturbance in the town of Corning, Vanness is accused of threatening a household member, with prior convictions for similar actions noted.

He faces charges of third-degree menacing and aggravated family offense, a class E felony.

Following his arraignment in the Centralized Arraignment Court, Vanness was detained at the Steuben County Jail with bail set at $1,000 cash.
