A three-car collision on Friday night in the Town of Jerusalem was caused by a drunk driver.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 9:45 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to Italy Hill Road after a crash alert.
Their investigation revealed that Kaitlyn Dechert, 25, from Corning, ignored a stop sign at Darbys Corners, causing her to collide with another car.
The impact made her car spin and hit a third stationary vehicle on Armstrong Road.
Following field sobriety tests, Dechert was arrested for DWI, aggravated DWI, and failure to stop.
