Police: Ithaca resident damaging vehicles, causing chaos with meat cleaver in ALDI parking lot

Local police swiftly intervened at the ALDI parking lot on 505 Third Street Wednesday afternoon following reports of a person aggressively targeting vehicles with a meat cleaver.


Eyewitnesses at the scene described the individual, waving the cleaver and causing havoc, as they tried breaking windows, slashing tires, and inflicting other damages on numerous cars.

Upon their rapid response, Ithaca Police Department officers promptly apprehended the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Ernetta Skipper of Ithaca.

Skipper, now facing disorderly conduct charges, has been transferred to Cayuga Medical Center for a psychological assessment.
