Last remaining ‘sticker shop’ shuts its doors in Watkins Glen as concerns about unregulated marijuana market grow

On July 31, Fat Daddy’s, the last remaining marijuana “sticker shop” in Watkins Glen, closed its doors for good.

These sticker shops are known for selling non-marijuana items, like stickers, and then providing marijuana as a gift with purchase.

The closure comes as New York State and the village of Watkins Glen have begun taking measures to curb unlicensed marijuana sales.

The village has updated local zoning laws to prevent illegal sticker stores from operating, a move that Mayor Laurie DeNardo says supports legal, licensed cannabis shops in the community.
