Teen pleads guilty to manslaughter after fatal 2022 Williamson stabbing

Last week a local teen pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in Wayne County Court.

Silas Rivera, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter charge over the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man in 2022.

District Attorney Mike Calarco confirmed that Rivera was charged in the killing of Arthur Edick, which took place during a dispute at a Ridge Road residence in Williamson.

At the time of the incident, Rivera, then 17, was arrested by state police with assistance from the Wayne County sheriff’s office. Edick was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester but was later pronounced dead.

Rivera was initially charged with second-degree murder and burglary but has since pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on October 4.
