Deputies arrested a Butler woman following an investigation into an assault with a weapon on Tuesday.
According to a news release, Elizabeth Merritt, 44, is accused of taking a baseball bat from her home and repeatedly striking her neighbor during a dispute.
The victim suffered hand, arm, and leg injuries.
The victim was then tackled to the ground and struck again. Extent of the injuries was not released by authorities beyond a description.
However, Merritt was charged with a felony count of assault, as well as menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
She was held at the Wayne County Jail pending arraignment.
