Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) is set to participate in a job fair at Monroe Community College’s (MCC) Downtown Campus in Rochester as part of its efforts to fill more than 130 open positions across RG&E and New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG). The job fair, scheduled for Thursday, April 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., is just one of a dozen career fairs across New York that the company will attend this spring.
RG&E is looking for applicants in various fields, including line worker positions, customer service representatives, engineering, meter reading, and field service technicians. In 2022, the company hired over 120 new customer service employees and added billing specialists dedicated to billing reviews and manual adjustments.
RG&E’s focus on hiring and stabilizing its workforce is a crucial step towards improving billing timeliness and reducing call center wait times. The company remains committed to addressing customer concerns and enhancing the overall customer experience. RG&E anticipates returning to a steady state in 2023.
