The Seward House in Auburn has announced that renowned activist and author Angela Davis will be the featured guest speaker at a city-wide Juneteenth celebration.
Davis is scheduled to address the audience on June 15th at the Auburn Junior High School auditorium. A distinguished figure, she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame and was named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2020.
The New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center and the City of Auburn’s Historic & Cultural Sites Commission will partially fund the event, as part of a month-long series of activities commemorating Juneteenth.
