School bus, pickup truck heavily damaged after CNY collision

An accident involving a Mexico Academy Central School Bus and a pickup truck was reported to the State Police in Pulaski on March 22, 2023, at 6:39 a.m. The accident took place at the intersection of County Route 1 and County Route 6 in the town of New Haven, Oswego County.

According to the investigation, the Mexico CSD School Bus was traveling north on County Route 6, driven by Mark T. Vosseller, age 69 from Fulton when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with County Route 1. As a result, the bus collided with a 2022 Dodge pickup truck driven by Jonathan H. Vosseller suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Upstate University Hospital. He was later ticketed for failure to yield to a stop sign. Fortunately, no students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

However, Theresa A. Steele, age 63, a bus monitor and passenger on the bus, sustained severe head injuries and was transported to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition. Jonathan H. Duval was also taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment but was later released.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing. The State Police in Pulaski urges all drivers to be vigilant and obey all traffic laws to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
