The Victor Blue Devils are headed to the New York State Class AA Final for the first time in program history.
Victor (23-2) defeated the Brentwood Indians (18-8), 56-41, in the NYS Class AA Semifinal on Friday afternoon at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.
The Blue Devils opened the game on a 10-0 run and led 20-7 after the first eight minutes. Brentwood went on a run in the second quarter and made it a five-point game at the break. However, Victor outscored the Indians 30-20 in the second half to claim the win.
Garrett Clar and Cam Ryan combined for 35 of the Blue Devils’ 56 points. Clar scored a game-high 19 points on 9-of-16 shooting, while Ryan netted 16. Nick Leonard poured in eight, and AJ Queri added six.
Victor will try to win their first state title on Saturday when they face the North Rockland Raiders (19-7) at 7 p.m.
