Serious three-car accident under investigation by state police

On Wednesday at 8:04 a.m., State Police in Marcy responded to a three-vehicle crash that happened at the intersection of State Route 12 and Steuben Road in the town of Trenton.

A 2018 Ford van, operated by Tracy L. Brucker, 37, of Frankfort was stopped at the stop sign on Steuben Road at the intersection with State Route 12 when she failed to observe a 2022 Ford van, operated by Willard A. Harvey, 47, of Rome traveling northbound on State Route 12 and entering the intersection.

Harvey was unable to avoid striking Brucker’s van causing a collision and continued traveling west crossing the southbound lane of State Route 12 and coming to rest off the roadway near the intersection of Starr Hill Road.

Brucker’s vehicle continued to travel into the parking lot of Shufelts Garage where it strikes a gas pump and the rear bumper of a 2020 Hyundai which was parked and unoccupied at the gas pump.

Mr. Harvey was not injured in the crash. Mrs. Brucker was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by Star Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.  A passenger in her vehicle was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by Kuyahoora Ambulance for stomach pain. Brucker was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way.
