Big Flats man accused of stealing $20,000 worth of silver

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately $20,000 worth of silver in Chemung County.

Jason F. Frycek, a 43-year-old resident of Big Flats, was taken into custody by the New York State Police out of the Horseheads Barracks. Frycek has been charged with grand larceny, a Class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony.

The charges were brought against Frycek after a thorough investigation into the theft of the valuable silver. The authorities believe that he may have been involved in other similar crimes in the area.

Frycek was arraigned in the Town of Elmira Court and was remanded to the Chemung County Jail on a $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. The court has scheduled further proceedings for Frycek’s case.
