Federal immigration agents detained longtime Mount Morris restaurant owner Dian Zhao Lin on Oct. 20, prompting calls for his release, according to 13WHAM.
His daughter, Yujin Lin, said her parents were traveling to work when agents detained her father.
She said the couple immigrated from China and have operated their restaurant in the village for more than 20 years.
Mayor Kelly Bacon said she was working to help bring Lin home, while customers showed support for his wife as she continued running the restaurant.
The reason for his detention and his immigration status remained unconfirmed, and the Department of Homeland Security had not responded to the station’s inquiry.
