‘TEAMWORK PAYS OFF’: Dog rescued, revived from Seneca County structure fire

The Ovid Fire Department says thanks to the fast action of local first responders a dog was successfully saved from a structure fire on County Road 129.

On Friday, January 27th firefighters from Ovid and Lodi were called to a structure fire on County Road 129.

As firefighters worked to put out the blaze, others went to work saving a dog that was trapped inside the home. Personnel from the fire departments and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office located, removed, and successfully revived the dog.

The dog was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment of injuries. The Ovid Fire Department says the dog is expected to make a full recovery.

“This serves as an important reminder that we never know what we’re going to find. Everyone came home safe,” the Ovid Fire Department said in a Facebook post. “Teamwork pays off.”
