Clyde man charged with child endangerment after traffic stop in Tyre

On Monday, January 9th State Troopers from the Waterloo barracks arrested Wayne A. Purnell, 25, of Clyde, for a variety of drug-related and child endangerment charges.

The arrest occurred after troopers observed Purnell failing to keep his vehicle on the right side of Black Brook Road in the town of Tyre.

During the traffic stop, troopers discovered that Purnell was in possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and that two children were also present in the vehicle. Purnell was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance as a misdemeanor, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Purnell was taken into custody and transported to the Seneca County Jail for arraignment. The children were removed from the vehicle and turned over to a family member.
