Syracuse falls to Minnesota in Pinstripe Bowl, 28-20

The Syracuse Orange football team fell to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 28-20, in the Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday afternoon at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

Syracuse racked up 477 yards of offense and held Minnesota to 213, but two big third-quarter plays (pick-six and 82-yard kickoff return) hurt the Orange.


Garrett Shrader completed 32-of-51 passes for 330 yards with 38 rushing yards and two touchdowns. LeQuint Allen recorded a game-high 94 yards on the ground, while Devaughn Cooper led all receivers with 114 yards.

The Orange finished the season with a 7-6 record.
