Another member of the Livingston County family was recognized for their dedication and expertise as Samuel Tinelli of the County’s Emergency Medical Services was presented with the Harriet C. Weber EMS Leadership Award at the New York State Bureau of EMS Vital Signs Conference in October.
The award is given annually to those who have shown longevity in their field along with innovation, dedication and responsibility and have displayed skills in establishing, maintaining, promoting or expanding EMS organizations, agencies or committees at the community and/or state levels.
Tinelli’s focus on training and education through both technological advancements and critical care enhancements have furthered his abilities to provide the highest degree of care to his patients according to Karen Dewar, the County’s Director of Emergency Medical Services.
“I am extremely proud of Sam’s accomplishments and am thrilled that he has been recognized by his peers for his outstanding contributions to both our County and profession,” she continued. “Sam’s dedication to his craft and his eagerness to continually find ways to improve and grow have proven invaluable to Livingston County and its residents.”
With more than a decade of service to the County, Tinelli was hired in 2011 as a part-time road paramedic. Since then, he has continued to advance in his career and has since been promoted to Supervising Advanced Life Specialist Technician where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the County’s emergency medical services.
One of the more decorated individuals in the County’s ranks, Tinelli is no stranger to recognition after having been previously awarded the Harriet C. Weber Award in 2021 by the Monroe-Livingston Regional EMS Council.
Tinelli holds numerous credentials including Specialty Care Transport Technician, Rapid Sequence Induction Provider and Toxicology Paramedic – all of which enable him to provide the highest levels of pre-hospital care when needed.
