Maxwell Frost, Democratic nominee for Congress in the state of Florida, is projected to win in Florida’s 10th Congressional District.
Frost would be the first ever Gen Z member to join Congress according to My Twin Tiers.
The 25-year-old will take the vacated seat of Representative Val Demings, who chose to run for Senate in Florida.
Frost is an Uber driver, and once the race was called, took to Twitter to announce that “history was made tonight.”
Frost stunned Democrats with his primary win, which seemed to come out of nowhere.
The race was against Republican Calvin Wimbish, who had tough views on abortion and immigration laws.
Frost, African American and Cuban, is a progressive activist for civil rights as well as gun control. He cares about ending mass incarceration, demilitarizing the police, and getting rid of the death penalty. He advocated for Florida felons to get their rights to vote back.
