Longtime Canandaigua City Councilor Nick Cutri has passed away.
City officials and community members mourned the loss of the steadfast supporter of Canandaigua over the last two days.

He served the community right up until his passing last Thursday, according to city officials.
“He’s really going to be missed,” Canandaigua Mayor Bob Palumbo told The Daily Messenger. “His love for Canandaigua and the people here is above and beyond.”
Cutri worked for the Canandaigua Central School District, and represented Ward 1 from 1988 to 2000, then again from 2014 until his passing on Sunday, November 6th.
Former Mayor Ellen Polimeni will fill out the remainder of Cutri’s term, at his request. She will not run for the seat, according to the Messenger.
