Fundraising for family devastated by Clinton Street fire underway: Man who saved 6-month-old recovering from serious injuries

The man who rescued his 6-month-old child from a burning home on Clinton Street in Seneca Falls suffered serious injuries.

A pair of GoFundMe pages have been started for the occupant, who police said escaped through a second-story window with his 6-month-old daughter by jumping out.

The baby didn’t suffer any injuries. But James was badly burned and suffered severely broken legs.

The GoFundMe’s, which were started by two different people aiming to help James and his family, have been setup to aid with housing and medical expenses.

“We have a long road to recovery, but we are so thankful James and baby Freya are alive,” Jewelia Robinson wrote in an update on the GoFundMe.

“He jumped out of the second story window with his daughter to save her life,” she continued. “He has two broken legs. [They were] broken in three places. His upper body is almost third degree burns down to his lower torso, back, and hands. The two dogs lived, the cats lived, one of the two lizards survived and he also managed to save his and his daughters’ lives. He is in pain, but he is a hero.”

Police have not released an update on the investigation into the house fire.
