Penn Yan man charged with aggravated DWI after failing to maintain lane

Deputies report the arrest of a Penn Yan man following a traffic stop on State Routes 5&20 in Hopewell.

According to a news release, around 1 a.m. on October 21st Paul Vanhousen, 63, of Penn Yan was stopped by deputies for failing to maintain his lane.


Upon investigation deputies found him to be intoxicated.

He was subsequently charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC over 0.18%, failure to maintain lane, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

He was issued appearance tickets to answer the charges at a later date.
