One dead, another seriously injured after motorcycle crash near Syracuse

State police are investigating a fatal crash that happened at the intersection of Lemoyne Avenue and Factory Avenue in Salina around 8 p.m. on Monday.

A motorcycle was traveling south on Lemoyne Avenue approaching Factory Avenue, and passed through a red light – striking a sedan operated by 44-year-old Robert Sterling, of Syracuse.

Troopers said the driver of the motorcycle, 16-year-old Angelo D. Mannino from Syracuse was transported to Upstate University Hospital and pronounced dead.


A passenger on the motorcycle, 14-year-old Bradon R. Wescott, also from Syracuse, was transported to Upstate University Hospital for serious head and facial injuries.

Sterling was treated and released. The investigation remains active.
