Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance announces travel guide preparations

For 72 years, the narrative of what makes the Finger Lakes region a top-tier vacation destination has been carefully crafted by Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance – One of America’s longest-continually operating destination marketing organizations.

Since 1951, the Finger Lakes Regional Travel Guide has helped travelers from across the globe find themselves in the Finger Lakes by featuring partner destinations that include lodging, dining, attractions, local services, shopping and seasonal activities. Now, the organization is gearing up to publish its 72nd consecutive annual edition, and encourages any tourism-reliant or hospitality-based business to reach out and be highlighted.

“It’s an honor and a pleasure to be on the front lines of informing and welcoming visitors to the region with the most representative information available and to continue the legacy of ensuring that future generations find a reason to fall in love with the Finger Lakes,” said FLTA President Cindy Kimble.

This year, the public can participate in helping FLTA showcase the best the region has to offer by sending in pictures of their own Finger Lakes adventures to be considered for the cover of the publication. Just email photos to [email protected] before Oct. 10, 2022, or share them via our Instagram and Facebook pages.

In 2022, 100,000 copies of the travel guide reached visitors in the United States and Canada and online copies received over 10,000 views from visitors on every continent except Antarctica. New copies will begin reaching prospective visitors in by February 2023. Businesses interested in being featured should contact our office at 315-536-7488, or by emailing [email protected] – Copy must be received by Nov. 1, 2022 to publish.
