The 2026 New York State Fair drew 962,795 visitors, about 37,000 more than last year, and a Wayne County farm supplied potatoes for a popular fair booth, according to Spectrum News 1.
The fair’s opening day had its highest single-day attendance since 2019, while nearly 7,400 livestock entries included more than 200 Holstein dairy cattle.
The Potato Booth sold 50,711 potatoes, and this year’s booth used only New York-grown products, including potatoes from Wayne County.
Other sales included nearly 300,000 glasses of milk, while 355 vendors operated more than 400 stands after vendor applications rose 25% to nearly 600.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County grew 55 crops and 70 plant varieties in a demonstration garden that donated 360 pounds of produce to Syracuse food pantries.
