At least one person was airlifted from the scene of a serious crash in the town of Sterling Saturday afternoon.
First responders were called to the intersection between Routes 38 and 104 in Cayuga County around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
A tractor-trailer and SUV were involved in the crash. One of the two people injured in the crash needed to be airlifted.
The area was shut down to traffic as crews worked the scene.
They opened back up to traffic during the evening hours.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance as the investigation continues. Specifically, they’re seeking witnesses, as deputies believe the SUV pulled out in front of the tractor-trailer.
