The Social Security Administration is gearing up to send the next round of retirement, SSI, and SSDI payments to Americans this August.

The payments help those who have retired, as well as qualifying low income Americans.
They payment schedules aren’t always the same for every program the Social Security Administration runs.
If your birthday falls between the first and tenth of the month, you’ll see your payment on the second Wednesday of every month.
Those with birthdays between the 11th and 20th can expect payments on the third Wednesday of every month.
Finally, those with birthdays landing between the 21st and 31st can see their payments on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
What are the payment schedules for SSDI or SSI under the Social Security Administration?
SSDI, or Social Security Disability Insurance, payments usually follow the same schedule as retirement payments.
Some exceptions to this rule apply depending on the date you began claiming payments.
SSI, or Supplemental Security Income, payments are sent on the first of every month, unless it lands on a weekend or holiday.
Social Security and SSDI payments for the month of August 2022
As long as SSDI beneficiaries started claiming benefits after 1997, they are on the same payment schedule as those with retirement payments.
Payments are being sent August 10, August 17, and August 24. That’s the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of the month, respectively.
The average Social Security retirement check is around $1,657 per month for the year 2022.
Those who receive the maximum payments get $4,194.
SSDI payments don’t have a set average, because so many factors go into determining how much you’ll receive.
This includes the age you became disabled, your employment history, and how long you’re eligible.
If you claimed SSDI before 1997, your payments are sent on the third of every month.
For those recipients, the payment is Wednesday, August 3.
If that date every lands on a weekend or holiday, you’ll receive your benefits the business day before.
This will happen in September because the third of the month lands on a Saturday.
This means Americans can expect their payments in September on Friday, September 2.
SSI payments for the month of August 2022
SSI, or Supplemental Security Income, has a similar payment schedule to the one for those that claimed SSDI before 1997.
The benefits are sent on the first of every month unless it lands on a weekend or holiday.
For August, payments will be sent August 1.
The average benefit payment for SSI is around $621 per month.
The most Americans will see under this program are payments worth $841 per month.
