The Auburn City Council has renewed its lease with Wegmans to allow the store to use city-owned parking spaces that the city doesn’t need.
Wegmans gets eight additional parking spaces for its Genesee St. store
The city doesn’t need the eight spaces between Loop Road and South Street and Wegmans does, so the lease has become an annual tradition. Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason says the lease is renewed for short periods of time, in the event that the city may someday need the spaces.
Wegmans will pay the city $1,500 for the use of the eight parking spaces for a period of six months, from August 1 to January 31, 2023.
