State police are investigating a fatal crash that happened in the town of Canandaigua on Lake Hill Road late-Monday.
Around 7:49 p.m. police responded to a one vehicle crash where it appeared to drive off the east shoulder of the road, striking a utility box.
The crash itself caused minor damage, according to police, who said the operator- a 70-year-old from Canandaigua was found unresponsive.
They identified the driver as Daniel Rice, who was transported to Thompson Hospital and pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police say they’re not ruling out a possible medical event that might have occurred before the crash.
