The Social Security Administration (SSA) is distributing additional money to SSI recipients this summer. All SSI recipients are getting payments worth $841. Although this is the maximum amount for an eligible individual, recipients with an eligible spouse can get up to $1,261. An essential person will get $421.
In order to qualify for SSI, individuals must not have more than $2,000 in assets and $3,000 for couples. The upcoming round of payments will be distributed August 1.
